Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on the 5th of February 1985 in the coastal town of Funchai, Madeira. He is the youngest of 4 siblings including 2 brothers and a sister. Ronaldo began his career at the early age of three. By the time he enrolled in primary school his passion for the great sport for fairly obvious.
He was fast in joining a local team and was the outstanding member of his club. When he was just eight years of age he was playing for the amateur team of Andorinha.
By the time he reached the age of 10, he was fairly well known in Portugal and many people thought he had substantial natural talent and maybe just enough to one day become a professional player.
Over the next few years Ronaldo had signed various deals and played in some high profile games. He was receiving first class instructions and he received high media coverage when he scored two goals for Sporting against the rivals of Moreirense. His achievements at the under seventeen’s championship allowed the former Liverpool F.C. manager Gerard Houllier to notice was remarkable talent this young boy possessed. However this was not enough and Houllier decided that he was too young and the chances of Ronaldo becoming a professional footballer could either increase or decrease over time.
Consistent training and a extraordinary self control was what brought Ronaldo to play next to David Beckham. By this time he had signed a 12.24 million pound contract with Manchester United and was scheduled to play Real Madrid. Ronaldo was handed the number 7 shirt and played the central attacking role as well as the second striker. Ronaldo is well known for occasional temper problems during some of his matches resulting to numerous yellow cards and warnings from his managers and coaches.
By late December of 2006, Ronaldo had became one of Manchester’s most loved and appreciated players with an overall tally of 12 goals in official league games. One of his most famous moments was when he scored two goals in a period of two minutes when he was substituted for another player. There has been much controversy about the ethical aspects of Ronaldo’s game specifically about the problem of going to the ground and pretending to be hurt under challenges. He was also accused for sexual assault but there was insufficient evidence to contact him.
When stepping back and looking at the bigger picture of Ronaldos career, we can say that it has consisted of various moments of success with a few moments of disappointment. Overall his tactical work is very clean and his name is fairly well known in the world of football. It takes a lot of hard work and natural talent to become a professional football player and Ronaldo has held all the aspects that a man needs to reach the top.
